Picasso Marble Corn Maiden Fetish
Corn Maidens are considered to be bringer of life and they also represents potential. This stunning piece was made by Noted Isleta Artist Andy Abeita, bio below. This hand carved Picasso Marble fetish is a beautiful gray with golden brown matrix throughout. Note the fine detail work of the facial features and on the Tablita (headdress). The body is etched with patterns representing kernels of corn. The necklace consists of blue turquoise, carnelian, and olive shell heishi.
Weight: just over 85 grams on my scale.
It’s signed on the bottom with Andy Abeita’s double A signature and his hallmark is on the side. It measures 3 3/8” tall by 1 1/4” at it’s widest point.
I placed a quarter there for scale.
