Description
Navajo Candelaria Turquoise Ring sz 7.5 This sweet size 7 1/2 ring was made by Navajo Artist Dean Sandoval. This is the Senior Dean Sandoval who is in his 70's now and still doing fine work. Boy, I snapped up as many of these rings that I could! It has a beautiful, bright blue Natural Candeleria turquoise stone with darker bright blue and a hint of gold, almost red matrix. The blue looks MUCH better in person, there's no way my camera can capture the "luminous" blue color of this stone. The stone sets in a scalloped bezel and I particularly like the the silver detailing around the border, please refer to pictures, very nice.
weight: 6.9 grams on my scale. It's marked sterling and signed D . It measures almost 7/8" tall by 3/4" at it's widest point. It has a sturdy split shank band. I placed a quarter there for scale.
The Candelaria mine is a small Nevada mine. It produces very little stone and is only occasionally worked. The turquoise is a good quality stone of high blue color with a luminous radiant quality, and is highly collectible.
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift! Please note: Pictures are enlarged to show detail, remember everything looks bigger on line :)
