Description

Large Turquoise Key Ring

This large key ring was made by Navajo artist Cecil Atencio, bio below. The beautiful Turquoise stone is a bright, deep , deep ocean blue with a bit of dark gold matrix. The stone is darker than it looks in the photos. The stone sets in a smooth bezel and is surrounded by twisted silver roping.

The blue looks MUCH better in person, blue's are hard to photograph and all monitors see colors differently

Weight: 17.6 grams on my scale
The setting is sterling silver while the key ring part is stainless steel. It measures about 2 1/4" tall.
The part with the stone is 1 1/4" by 1” at it’s widest point. To open it up to put keys on it- squeeze and pull.

Cecil Atencio

Cecil Atencio was born on the Navajo reservation at Kimbeto, NM. In June 1956 to Nina and Chee Atencio. Cecil's sister Esther and her husband Alfred Largo taught him the art of Silversmithing and told Cecil that no mater what happened in his life he could always fall back on Silversmithing.

Cecil has been a Silversmith for almost 30 years and is known for his large pieces like this Concho belt. He currently lives on the Navajo reservation at To'Hajiilee', New Mexico with his wife Mae and two children Carmelita and Ephraim, also his two grandchildren Louis and Alliana Atencio.

Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift!

Please note: Pictures are enlarged to show detail, remember everything looks bigger on line :)
