Description

This Santo Domingo (Kewa) ankle bracelet is 9 1/2" long, end to end. It was made by Artist D. Crespin. The design is beautiful and I think it could be a men's bracelet as well. It features heishi of blue turquoise, lot's of white shell, black jet and reddish brown pipestone.

Wight: about 6.5 grams on my scale
The heishi pieces are uniform and are about 3/16".
I placed a quarter there for scale.

The literal meaning of heishi is "shell" and specifically refers to pieces of shell which have been drilled and ground into beads and then strung into necklaces. more information on this fascinating subject can be found on the internet

Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift! Please note: Pictures are enlarged to show detail, remember everything looks bigger on line :)
