Description
Big Kingman Turquoise Ring sz 10.25
This gorgeous large ring was Hand Crafted by Navajo Artist Al Charley who works in the traditional Navajo style. It's a size 10 1/4. It has a polished Kingman Turquoise stone that is bright, deep, deep blue with light to dark gold spiderwebbed matrix .The stone sets in a scalloped bezel and is surrounded by twisted silver roping. It has a thick, really sturdy split shank band that has a bit of stamp work designs.
The blue looks MUCH better in person, blue's are hard to photograph and all monitors see colors differently.
I took a lot of pictures of this piece below. Please forgive my very old hand (but note my neat tattoo) I wanted you to get an idea of how great it looks on.
It's marked sterling and Hallmarked. It measures 1 1/2" tall by 7/8" at it's widest point.
Weight: 22.2 grams on my scale I placed a quarter there for scale.

Kingman Turquoise
The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona was one of the largest turquoise mines in North America. The terms "Kingman" or "high blue" refer to the blue color usually displayed in this stone. It has become a color standard in the industry. The mine became famous for its rounded, bright blue nuggets with black matrix. Natural Kingman is highly collectible. Some of the finest specimens of Kingman were mined in the 1960’s. This was an intense blue with a black and silver matrix.
