Description
Classic Navajo Turquoise Nugget Ring sz 6.5
This ring is a size 6 1/2 to 6 3/4, more towards 6 3/4. It was made by Navajo Artist Will Denetdale, picture and bio below. It has a very blue turquoise nugget set in a smooth bezel. The stone is surrounded by twisted silver wire in the classic rope design. There's stamp work as well as deep notched silver detailing around the border.
It measures 1" tall by3/4" at it's widest point.
It's marked sterling and signed W. Denetdale Navajo. Weight: 6.3 grams on my scale. I placed a quarter there for scale.
Will Denetdale
"A quiet man, Will Denetdale rises each morning to the sun and his work. It is a life he has chosen for himself. Every day he thinks about his art every night he dreams about his work, the creation process stirring within him. Born at Fort Defiance, Arizona, Will attended high school in Gallup, New Mexico, where he took silversmithing classes. After graduating he stayed in Gallup for a while, working in the production of silver and turquoise jewelry. His name is becoming famous in his trade his art a standard by which other pieces may be judged. Will lives in Southern Arizona where he works in his home. Will hopes his work of pride will become someone's pride and joy: well worn and well loved." Is that a great Bio or what?
