Sandpainted Glass Christmas Ornament
This brightly colored glass ball ornament was sandpainted by Navajo Artist Rachael Harrison. It features a piece of pottery on the side and a bear claw design on the other. The white, red, yellow, orange and black colors really pop again the very blue background Basically it's your standard size large round ornament.
It is signed by the artist It measures about 2 5/8” tall by 2 3/8” wide.

I placed a quarter there for scale.
Sandpaintings are made using various colored sands from around southwest and naturally colored crushed stone and minerals. They can include natural products like flower pollen and powdered roots. These make the wonderful bright traditional designs you see.
