This design incorporates Ancient Mammoth Tooth.
The mammoth roamed the earth for 1.8 million years, until it's extinction
about 10,000 years ago. Unearthed in Northern Alaska, Canada
and Siberia, it's unique colors are derived from the minerals found in the soil.
That's so cool.
This pendant was created by San Felipe Artist Philip Sanchez. The Mammoth Tooth Stone
has intense colors of deep blue, golden browns, ivory and light amber. It looks like petrified wood.
It comes with a really nice 18" sterling silver chain
It's marked sterling and signed.
It's 1 1/2" tall, plus 3/8" bail, by 1" at it's widest point.
Weight: 11.2 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale
Philip Sanchez, San Felipe Artist and Silversmith, was born in 1951 at the San Felipe Pueblo. He was raised on a large ranch with his 8 sisters and 5 brothers. They grew up tending to a variety of livestock and farming fresh fruits and vegetables. Philip stayed close to his roots with livestock of his own and enjoys horseback riding to check on livestock or just to go for a ride at sunset.
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift!
