This Native American made pendant features two bright bright blue
Sleeping Beauty turquoise stones. Each stone sets in a scalloped bezel
and it's decorated with applied sterling silver leaves and beads.
It comes with a nice 18" sterling silver chain.
It's marked sterling and signed - I can't make out who it is.
Overall, including bail, it's 1 1/4" tall by 5/8" wide.
Pendant weight: 4.8 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale.
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift!
Sleeping Beauty Turquoise
The Sleeping Beauty mine is located near Globe, Arizona. Its turquoise is noted for its solid, light blue color with little or no matrix. Sleeping Beauty turquoise is the favorite of the Zuni Pueblo silversmiths for use in petit point, needlepoint, and inlay jewelry. This mine is one of the largest in North America and is still operating. Update: The mine has been closed to turquoise mining since august 2012.
