This necklace is 17" long and was made by Santo Domingo (Kewa) Artist Delbert Crespin.
It looks fresh for summer with heishi of blue turquoise and off white shell.
Weight: about 15 grams on my scale
The heishi pieces are uniform and are about 1/8".
I placed a quarter there for scale.
The literal meaning of heishi is shell and specifically refers to pieces of shell which have been drilled and ground into beads and then strung into necklaces. more information on this fascinating subject can be found on the internet
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift! Please note: Pictures are enlarged to show detail, remember everything looks bigger on line :)
