This pendant was created by Navajo Artist Joe Piaso Jr. The outstanding Kingman turquoise
stone is a bright lighter blue blending perfectly to a bright darker blue with dark gold. The stone
sets in a smooth bezel with a thick carved silver border.
It comes with a very nice 18" sterling silver chain.

It's marked sterling signed and hallmarked.
It's just over 1 3/8" tall, plus 3/8" bail, by 1" at it's widest point.
The stone is 1 1/8" by 3/4" wide.
Pendant weight: 18.2 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale.

Kingman Turquoise
The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona was one of the largest turquoise mines in North America. The terms "Kingman" or "high blue" refer to the blue color usually displayed in this stone. It has become a color standard in the industry. The mine became famous for its rounded, bright blue nuggets with black matrix. Natural Kingman is highly collectible. Some of the finest specimens of Kingman were mined in the 1960's. This was an intense blue with a black and silver matrix.
