There's such an endless variety in slab earrings, I love it!
These mosaic looking earrings were made by Kewa (Santo Domingo) Artist Veronica Tortalito..
The stones are turquoise nugget and spiny oyster shell combined with a binding agent / resin
that gives them a shimmery cooper/ gold matrix. It's made into a large rock from which these earrings
were cut. The stones are surrounded by a strip of sterling silver to give them a more finished look.
The stones are 1 3/8" long by 1/2" wide
Total weight: 6.8 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale
In 2009, Santo Domingo Pueblo's tribal council decided to change the pueblo's name back to the
ancestral name Kewa Pueblo (pronounced KEE-wah)
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift!
