This fabulous handcrafted pendant was created by San Felipe artist Philip Sanchez. It features
a distinctive Emerald Valley turquoise stone that has light to dark spring mossy greens with a hint of golden brown.
The carved sterling silver border is simple and clean looking.
It comes with a really nice 18" sterling silver chain.

It's marked sterling and signed.
It measures 1 1/8" tall, plus3/8" bail by 1" at it's widest point.
The stone is 7/8" tall by just over 3/4" at it's widest point.
Pendant weight: 12 grams on my scale
I placed a quarter there for scale.

Emerald Valley Turquoise
The brilliant green turquoise known as Emerald Valley is found in two locations.
One source is in Nevada and the other in China. While I don't know for certain
which mine produces the stone, I do know that the stones are processed into
cabochons in the US. Emerald Valley is a good medium to high grade turquoise and is not common in
the US. The color is typically a variety of green with some brown matrix.

Philip Sanchez, San Felipe Artist and Silversmith, was born in 1951 at the San Felipe Pueblo. He was raised on a large ranch with his 8 sisters and 5 brothers. They grew up tending to a variety of livestock and farming fresh fruits and vegetables. Philip stayed close to his roots with livestock of his own and enjoys horseback riding to check on livestock or just to go for a ride at sunset.
