This large ring is a size 7 1/2, maybe a wee bit bigger, and was
created by San Felipe Artist Phillip Sanchez.
The stone is very white with black.
It's marked sterling and signed
1 3/8" tall by just over 3/4" wide.
The stone is 1 1/4 tall by 5/8" wide
weight: 14.1 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale.
Philip Sanchez, San Felipe Artist and Silversmith, was born in 1951 at the San Felipe Pueblo. He was raised on a large ranch with his 8 sisters and 5 brothers. They grew up tending to a variety of livestock and farming fresh fruits and vegetables. Philip stayed close to his roots with livestock of his own and enjoys horseback riding to check on livestock or just to go for a ride at sunset.
White Buffalo Stone, also known as Sacred Buffalo Stone, is white with black
and brown inclusions. It's sometimes called "white turquoise" but it is not turquoise
and from what I gather it's comes from only one mine in Nevada, which is owned by the Otteson family.
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift!
