This Naja pendant was created by Navajo Berna Fransisco. The Sonoran Turquoise
stone is a mossy to emerald green.
The stone sets in a smooth bezel in the top center of the Naja design.
The "naja" and the squash blossom bead was introduced to the Navajo by the
Spanish and later adopted by the Zuni. The crescent shaped Naja is similar
to the pendants that hung from the headstalls of the Spanish silver bridles
in the late 1500s and early 1600s.
It comes with a very nice 18" sterling silver chain.
I'm told his Sonoran Turquoise is from a mine in Mexico located
on the New Mexico / Arizona border.

It's marked 925 and signed.
It's 1 1/2" tall, plus 1/4" bail, by 1 5/8" at it's widest point.
Pendant weight: 8.4 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale.
