This fabulous big ring is a size 8 was created by San Philipe artist Philip Sanchez.
This Sonoran Turquoise stone pops! It has bright pale green blending to
dark emerald greens with beige/brown. There's silvery pyrites as well, a mineral
sometimes found in turquoise. It has a sturdy split shank band with stamp work.
The hand display is not to scale, it's smaller.
I'm told Sonoran Turquoise is from a mine in Mexico located on
the New Mexico Arizona border.
Philip Sanchez, San Felipe Artist and Silversmith, was born in 1951 at the San Felipe Pueblo. He was raised on a large ranch with his 8 sisters and 5 brothers. They grew up tending to a variety of livestock and farming fresh fruits and vegetables. Philip stayed close to his roots with livestock of his own and enjoys horseback riding to check on livestock or just to go for a ride at sunset.
It's marked sterling and signed.
It's 1 3/8" tall by 5/8" at it's widest point.
