This small beautiful size 7 1/2 ring was created by Navajo Artist Murphy Platero.
The Sonoron Turquoise stone has bright blues blending to green with a hint of yellow.
It has Murphy's signature curvy open sterling silver wire shank.
I'm told Sonoran Turquoise is from a mine in Mexico located
on the New Mexico / Arizona border.
It's unmarked sterling silver
The stone is 3/8" tall by 1/4" at it's widest point.
The curvy wire shank tapers down to 1/4" in the back.
weight: 4.5 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale.
Sonoran Gold Turquoise is mined in Sonora, Mexico near the city of Cananea. The mine is located at the Campitos Mountain. Sonoran Gold is a beautiful turquoise comes in an aqua blue, lime green, two tone blue and can have stunning yellow gold matrices. Unlike most turquoise, Sonoran Gold is not mined in veins but forms inside clay deposits as individual nuggets.
