This lovely pendant was created by Navajo Artist & Silversmith Norvin Johnson.
The Golden Hill Turquoise stone has light to periwinkle blue with just a wee bit of umber matrix.
It comes with a nice 18" sterling silver chain.
Golden Hill Turquoise
A rare color for turquoise, Golden Hill Turquoise comes from a deposit in the Altyn Tyube mine in Kazakhstan. These stunning gems have a light blue to periwinkle hue to them, and a reddish, burnt umber matrix. The Kazakhstan turquoise exceeds many others in terms of uniqueness and rarity. This hard, high-grade material produces gorgeous natural cabochons. Like Turquoises from Egypt, Tibet or Persia, wherever you find Copper or Iron, there is the possibility of finding Turquoise.
It's marked sterling and signed.
Overall it's 3/8" tall by 5/8" at it's widest point.
Pendant weight: 6.5 grams on my scale.
I placed a quarter there for scale.
Sure to make a Fine addition to any collection, or a great gift! Please note: Pictures are enlarged to show detail, remember everything looks bigger on line :)
